Position Overview and Key Responsibilities
Below is a detailed overview of the roles. Specific duties may vary based on the exact project phase and reporting structure, but all positions require a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a multicultural, fast-paced setting.
Document Control Responsible for establishing and maintaining robust document management systems, ensuring accurate tracking, version control, and timely distribution of all project documentation, drawings, specifications, and correspondence in compliance with project standards and contractual requirements.
Cost Control Oversee project budgeting, cost forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. This role involves close collaboration with procurement, planning, and site teams to monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure the project remains financially viable.
Project Engineer Provide technical support across engineering disciplines, coordinate between design, execution, and commissioning teams, resolve site technical issues, and ensure adherence to approved designs and specifications.
Project Engineer Manager Lead a team of project engineers, oversee technical coordination, interface with stakeholders, and drive the resolution of complex engineering challenges to maintain project momentum and quality.
QA/QC Coordinator Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans, conduct audits, manage inspection and testing activities, and ensure all works meet international standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) and client specifications.
HSE Coordinator Coordinate Health, Safety, and Environment programs across the project, ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices (such as OSHA or ISO 45001), conduct risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture.
Site Project Manager Provide overall leadership at the site level, manage day-to-day operations, coordinate subcontractors and resources, monitor progress against schedule and budget, and serve as the primary point of contact for site-related matters.
Site Planner Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar tools, monitor progress, identify critical paths, and produce regular planning reports and recovery plans as needed.
Electrical Supervisor Supervise electrical installation, testing, and commissioning works, ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards, and manage a team of electricians and technicians.
Piping & Mechanical Supervisor Oversee piping fabrication, installation, and mechanical equipment erection, including alignment, welding, and testing activities, while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Civil & Structure Supervisor Lead civil and structural works, including concrete pouring, formwork, reinforcement, and steel structure erection, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to design drawings.
QA/QC Supervisor Execute quality control inspections, manage non-conformance reports, witness testing, and support the implementation of the project's quality management system.
HSE Responsible / HSE Supervisor Implement and enforce HSE policies on site, conduct toolbox talks, investigate incidents, and ensure all personnel adhere to safe working practices.
Mechanical (Meccanic) Perform or supervise mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair works on equipment and systems, with a focus on reliability and efficiency.
Field Engineer Provide on-site engineering support, monitor construction activities, verify compliance with specifications, and assist in problem-solving and technical decision-making.
Commissioning Manager Lead the commissioning phase, develop commissioning plans and procedures, coordinate system testing, handover activities, and ensure smooth transition to operations.
Commissioning Engineer Execute commissioning activities for various systems, prepare test protocols, analyze results, and troubleshoot issues during pre-commissioning and commissioning stages.
Instrumentation & Control Supervisor Supervise installation, calibration, and testing of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring integration with overall plant or facility control architecture.
Procurement & Logistic Supervisor Manage procurement processes, material sourcing, logistics, inventory control, and timely delivery of materials to site while optimizing costs and minimizing delays.
Candidate Requirements (General)
- Relevant educational qualification (Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, or equivalent for supervisory/technical roles).
- Proven experience in similar large-scale construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects (minimum 5–15 years depending on the position).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with international standards, project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), and relevant software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and under challenging site conditions.
- Valid certifications (e.g., PMP, NEBOSH, IOSH, or discipline-specific) will be considered an asset.
